Very interesting. Interpreters and explainers are one of the most easily updateable bits of "software" in any museum. They are so common in living history museums but I wish they were used more in more contemporary museums, especially in Asia. It is a great way to get the community, in particular older people, engaging with younger audeinces.

Thanks, Jim, for some of the best photos of the museum I've seen, and a great write-up. Remember the house by the pond (opposite the pond above the mill)?
Spent the night there a couple weeks ago and about froze my little bazeech but what a great place to wake up even tho it was too early for bullfrogs. Wish we were literary enough to need a printer - but then the last guy I talked to (some time ago) who wanted a job at the museum ended up rebuilding that horizontal mill (never done that before) and now is on the board. Who knows-they may need a printing press after all.

I can't tell you how much I love these living history museums. For example, <a href="http://www.theonion.com/content/video/historic_blockbuster_store_offers" target="_blank" title="historic blockbuster store museum">THIS ONE</a>.
